Veneers
Dental veneers, also known as laminates, are a cosmetic procedure used to enhance the appearance of one or more of the front teeth. Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or resin. They are customized and designed based on your natural tooth color and shape. Veneers are bonded to the surface of the teeth to address cracked, misshapen, or broken teeth. They can even address discoloration that doesn’t respond to traditional whitening treatments. As a result, patients with veneers achieve a natural appearance that is resistant to future staining.
Did you know that dental veneers are a conservative way to completely transform your smile? In fact, veneers are known to help you achieve a million-dollar smile and are popular among celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Miley Cyrus, and Hilary Duff. It’s no wonder that Hollywood’s elite turn to cosmetic dentistry for veneers. However, due to affordability and accessibility, getting dental veneers is easy and viable for any patient to enjoy.

What issues can porcelain veneers correct?
Am I a candidate for dental veneers or laminates at River Park Dental?
Dental veneers may be the right solution if you are looking for an alternative treatment to crowns. Veneers are an excellent option to address teeth that are chipped, broken, slightly crooked, or misshaped. To find out more about dental veneers and if they’re right for you, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Ahmed at our Rocky Hill office.
What should I expect when I get my dental veneers?
Before dental veneers are bonded to the teeth, the surface of the teeth must be prepared. To begin the process, a local anesthetic is administered to the area. A small area of the surface of the tooth is buffed away to make room for the dental veneer. We will then take impressions of your teeth to create your veneers in a dental lab. Once the veneers are ready, you’ll return to our office for a fitting and ensure the color, shape, and appearance is just right.
Will I need to follow any post-treatment care instructions?
Dental veneers don’t require special maintenance other than regular brushing and flossing. Because veneers are placed over the course of two appointments, it’s normal to have some sensitivity in the area. Dr. Ahmed may also recommend a special guard to protect your veneers from teeth grinding or clenching at night.
Porcelain Veneer Pricing / Composite Fee
Here at River Park Dental, we try to make pricing as simple as possible. Porcelain veneers are $1500 with a 5% cash discount, and composite veneers are $500.
Veneers vs. Crowns
Veneers and crowns are both dental restorations that can drastically improve the appearance and function of your teeth. The main difference between the two is that a veneer only covers the front of your tooth, and a crown covers the entire tooth like a cap.
Selecting a veneer or crown depends largely on the condition of your teeth and which dental issues you’re trying to address. Veneers are mainly used for cosmetic purposes but can also treat minor dental problems such as chips or cracks. Dentists typically recommend this option first because veneers require less enamel removal, making it more conservative. However, if the tooth has significant decay or trauma, a dental crown is likely the best choice in the long run.
Dr. Ahmed takes special care to color match veneers or crowns to surrounding teeth for a seamless finish. No one will be able to tell the difference!

Dental Crowns
Dental treatment has drastically improved thanks to advancements in modern technology. The E4D CAD/CAM system makes it possible for patients to receive stunning dental crowns in just one visit. The E4D uses sophisticated software to precisely design and create a crown while you’re still in the dental chair! This technology makes getting a dental crown easier and more convenient than ever without sacrificing the quality.
Traditional crowns require at least two office visits because they’re made in an off-site lab? In fact, the treatment timeline can take weeks without the use of an E4D. That means extra time spent traveling to the office and waiting in the dental chair, which can be a hassle for patients.
Video 01:00 |”A beautiful smile is something everyone wants. If you have a tooth that is not the same size or shape as your other teeth and that needs support, your dentist may recommend a crown. Crowns are used to help make a tooth stronger, and improve a tooth’s appearance.”

How should I care for a new crown?
You can return to your normal eating habits right after the appointment. However, you will need to avoid chewing on ice or any hard objects that could damage your restoration. Please continue to brush and floss daily to maintain your oral hygiene. Dr. Ahmed may also discuss getting a night guard if you grind your teeth in order to protect your new crown.

Teeth whitening
Teeth naturally become more yellow, discolored, or stained over time due to factors such as aging, smoking, or drinking coffee. The good news is that a brighter smile is one dental visit away! We offer patients safe and lasting teeth whitening solutions with little to no side effects. Patients can leave our office with a luminous smile in just one appointment.
Which teeth whitening treatment is right for me?
At River Park Dental, we offer two different whitening treatments:
It’s important to note that teeth whitening results vary for each person. For example, teeth that are naturally brighter won’t have as noticeable results as teeth that are dull. Your diet and daily habits also play a large part in maintaining your results. If you’d like to learn more about teeth whitening, we invite you to speak to Dr. Ahmed to find out if you’re a good candidate.
Should I whiten my teeth?
As we age, your smile starts to show the effects of years of coffee, wine, cigarettes, illness, and missed dental cleanings. All of these factors can contribute to yellow teeth over time and cause staining.
Today’s teeth whitening treatments are more advanced than ever and can penetrate even the most stubborn cases of discoloration. You can achieve a beaming, beautiful smile by scheduling a consultation at River Park Dental. Dr. Ahmed will walk you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and help you fall in love with your smile.

Tooth-Colored Fillings
A tooth-colored filling is made of composite resin and blends in seamlessly with your natural tooth. It’s used as an alternative to silver fillings, otherwise known as amalgam. The resin mimics the shade and texture of natural enamel, and in the hands of a skilled dentist such as Dr. Ahmed, is virtually undetectable.
Tooth-colored fillings are an excellent option for patients who are turned off by the idea of having silver fillings in their mouths. These restorations have a stellar success rate and are bonded to the teeth for lasting results.
Fillings are the first line of defense for teeth that are decayed. Ideally, fillings should replace up to half of the tooth structure. More extensive damage may require a more substantial restoration such as a dental crown.
What is composite resin bonding?
As known as dental bonding, composite resin bonding is a simple, affordable, and very popular cosmetic procedure. It can be used to fill in chips, and cracks, and even improve the appearance of discolored teeth that don’t respond to whitening treatment. The resin is color-matched to your enamel, applied to the tooth, and hardened with a special UV light for stunning results.

How do I care for new tooth-colored fillings?
To care for your new fillings, we recommend eating soft foods and liquids after your appointment. You’re free to chew as soon as the anesthesia wears off because the restorations are fully bonded when you leave our office. It’s important to attend all your future check-ups and practice good oral hygiene to make your fillings last as long as possible.
